Bordering the Ria Formosa estuary Quinta da Ria is surely one of the most beautiful golf golf courses in the Algarve. Spectacular views of the mountains and coastline are a constant presence of this beautiful layout set in a Natural Park, the surrounding orange trees and vineyards give their contribution to make the course’s country landscape even more beautiful.
Designed by Rocky Roquemore this a par 72 golf course, comprising two loops of 9 holes and each loop with 2 par 5, five par 4 and two par 3 holes. Its total length is about 5.872 meters. Five lakes were strategically built along the course, specifically near greens 5, 10 and 14. Hole 16, par 5, is played between the two biggest lakes. The green of par 3 nr. 17 is limited by one of these lakes where an island with various bird fauna may be found.
Spreading along an almost flat terrain with greens that are slightly undulating and well protected by bunkers and, water comes to play on 6 holes. Beware of the reeds that have sprung up around all the water hazards, and steer clear of the ancient knurled olive and carob trees that are liberally dotted around the golf course, giving definition to the often luxuriously wide fairways.
