Located on 540 hectares of spectacular Portuguese countryside, Golden Eagle Golf Course is often referred to as one of the most outstanding golf courses near Lisbon, framed within a natural landscape environment, where trees almost touch the limits of the fairways, the golf course was set in an extension of approximately 224 acres, along which players are forced to go around eight lakes and 87 bunkers of large dimensions.
Designed by the U.S. golf course architect, Willian “Rocky” Roquemore this Par 72 and 7243 yards length presents a stimulating challenge to golfers who demand a real test, but who like to see their efforts rewarded. The diversity of holes, many of which are truly exceptional, the unusual sizes of the bunkers and the landscaped setting are just some of the features that make this course one of the best designed in Portugal.
This championship course provides a real test of accuracy and it is considered as one of the longest courses in Portugal. The Portugal Ladies Open 2009 was hosted at Golden Eagle with great success and many other professional tournaments are expected to be played there over the coming years.
